CloggingkidsOn Friday, Sept. 9, eight Swain County 4-Hers hopped on stage at the Mountain State Fair in Asheville and competed in the ACHF sanctioned clogging competition.

Addison Shuler, Brylee Shuler, Claire Hill and Kazandra Cooper competed in the solo traditional category. Brianna Wesley and Lydia Dingle competed in the short duo/duet category.

The solo-traditional category and short duo/duet categories require the dancers to show off their traditional clogging steps in 32 beats in a rise-and-shine style dance.

Josh Jones and Emma Dingle competed in the traditional duet (buck and wing). This category features one male and female clogger who demonstrates traditional, drag style and precision steps in a choreographed routine. The couple must dance together holding hands and incorporates arm turns.

Competition was fierce this year and these Swain 4-Her showed by getting up there and giving it their best!
