Swain County 4-H is collecting unwrapped new or *gently used toys and houseware items to donate to victims of the recent fires in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Since immediate needs look like they are being met locally, we are hoping to collect items that will help folks to be better prepared to start over when a temporary or permanent housing arrangement is found.
Items could include:
  • toys and games for children of all ages (new or gently used)
  • school supplies
  • books
  • housewarming shower type items:
    • small appliances
    • dishes and silverware
    • sheets and pillows
    • towels
    • blankets
*Please keep in mind that some donations need to be new not gently used. Only donate items that you would consider clean and like new that will be useful to someone that is completely starting over. Thank you for your donations.

Drop-off DEADLINE:
December 8th @ 4:00 p.m.

You can drop off your donations at the Swain County Cooperative Extension, 60 Almond School Road or the Marianna Black Library in Bryson City. All donations will be delivered on December 9th to the University of Tennessee for distribution.
