Avery/Mitchell County 4-H Youth Development

2020 4-H Holiday Card Contest

Encourage your 4-H youth to design a December 2020 holiday card for the Avery/Mitchell County 4-H Youth Development Programs. The winning design(s) will be the cover of the holiday cards that will be sent to livestock producers located in Avery and Mitchell Counties.

Additional details:

  • Artist must be age 5 to 18 (if interested in joining 4-H, see link below for NEW 4-H’ers).
  • One winner from each age category will be chosen:
    • Age categories: Cloverbud: 5-8     Junior:  9-13     Teen:  14-18
  • Artwork must be on a solid white sheet of unlined paper and no larger than 81/2 X 11 and no smaller than 5 ½ X 8 1/2:
    • Paint, marker, pencil, and crayon are all acceptable.
    • Dimensional art is acceptable as long as it can be photocopied.
    • Artwork must be submitted (uploaded) with the online entry form and within the size parameters. If artwork is mailed in, you will need to print off the entry form and attach it.
  • Artwork must show December Holidays or a winter scene AND include an aspect of 4-H:
    • All artwork must be original work by the artist!
  • By submitting artwork for the contest, you and your legal guardian agree that your name, age, club, and school may be used on the Holiday Card and mailed out to the public.
  • All artwork submitted becomes the property of the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Avery or Mitchell County.
  • We reserve the right to modify the winning artwork to fit on the holiday card.

DEADLINE:  Friday, November 27, 2020:  Artwork must be received by 11/27/2020, before 5 p.m. Entries can also be mailed to:
