2021 Swain County Fair

A County Fair-style festival, complete with judging of vegetables, eggs, and flowers; agricultural demos; craft vendors; food vendors and live music!!

Booth Applications & Judging Information/Entry Forms

  • FOOD PRESERVATION EXHIBIT & JUDGING INFORMATION  – All Food Preservation Entries must be received at the Swain County Cooperative Extension Office by Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August, 17. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No exceptions. Food Preservation entries will be judged before Saturday, August 21, 2021, and will be displayed with the winning ribbons at the Swain County Fair. Categories include: Canned fruits, canned vegetables, preserves, jams, butters, conserves and marmalades, jelly, along with pickles and relishes.   • BAKED GOODS EXHIBIT & JUDGING INFORMATION  – All Baked Goods Entries must be received at the Swain County Cooperative Extension office between Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August, 17. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No exceptions. Baked Goods entries will be judged before Saturday, August 21, 2021, and will be disposed of once they have been judged. Categories included: breads, cakes, cookies/brownies and pies. Contact Dee Decker, Family & Consumer Science Agent at dee_decker@ncsu.edu or (828) 488-3848 for more information.
  • QUILTS EXHIBIT & JUDGING INFORMATION  – All Quilt Entries (youth & adult) must be received at the Swain County Cooperative Extension office between Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August, 17. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All entries must be received during this time. No exceptions. Quilt entries will be judged before Saturday, August 21, 2021 be displayed with the winning ribbons at the Swain County Fair. Quilts must be picked up at the end of the Swain County Fair hours before 4 p.m. or at the Swain County Extension Office on Monday, August 23  – Wednesday, August 25. Standards for judging quilts include: presentation, design & creativity, and workmanship.   • CRAFTER & MOBILE FOOD VENDOR APPLICATION  – Application must be received by Friday, August 6. Friday Booth set-up will be from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. (August 20th). Saturday Booth set-up begins at 7 a.m. and must be completed by 9 a.m. (August 21st).
