Pesticide School and Exam in Swain County
NC State Extension specialists, County Extension agents,
and N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide Inspectors will present lessons and answer questions on issues that applicators face.
Attendees can then take the NCDA&CS Pesticide Exams (1 p.m. on Day 2). Exams are offered for private, public, and commercial applicators in their varying categories. See below for more information.

DESCRIPTION:All of our Pesticide Safety Schools are online until further notice. If the school is able to transition to an in-person format, we will notify you in advance by email. To register online, please follow this link.
This day-and-a-half school is offered online and requires a computer or tablet with a webcam. On day one, class begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Time for breaks and an hour-long lunch are given throughout day one. On day two, the school runs from 8:00-11:30 a.m. The Zoom link, agenda, handouts, and important information will be sent to the registrant in an email a few days prior to the school.
Exams are in-person. You must register for the exam(s) separately with the NCDA&CS by phone (919.733.3556) or online. The Pesticide Safety School offers Core training on the first day and, on the second day, the following subcategory:
– Ornamentals and Turfgrass
**Those registered for the Private/Farmer category do not need to attend class on day two.
