N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is hosting a 4-H Domestic Poultry Show in the fall of 2021, the date of the show will be October 2, 2021. This year, as part of the registration process, participants will choose the breed to be shown. Here is the registration form link to vote for the breed you would like to show https://go.ncsu.edu/2021poultryshow. Three breeds are listed and participants are asked to select their choices. Once registration is complete, the winning breed will be announced, and that will be the one shown this year. The breeds from which to choose are Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, or Black Australorps.

The show is open to all youth ages 5 to 18. The registration fee of $15 covers all show costs, two chicks for the show, and additional poultry show workshops. The only chickens permitted in the show are the chicks received through the program registration. Participants will receive their chicks at the poultry workshop in June where they will also learn the basics of chicken care. More details on that meeting  of the actual show will be released once registration is complete.

To register, please visit https://2021poultryshow.eventbrite.com. Please register no later than April 5th, 2021, to participate. All participants must also be enrolled in 4-H Online for the 2021 program year; the link to that portion of the registration process is 4-H Online.
