4-H Summer Fun is Back for 2021

Swain County invites anyone and everyone between the ages of 5-18 (as of January 1, 2021) to join us for our 2021 Summer Fun Day Camps! You do not have to be in 4-H to participate!

Summer Fun is back with a face-to-face collection of educational day camps, field trips, and hands-on activities designed to create lasting fond summer memories through positive learning opportunities and valuable life skills development. Visit a local farm and Livestock Center to learn about livestock, where your food comes from, and how agricultural science feeds us all. Learn cake decorating techniques and put your skills to the test. Learn the essentials of a safe and successful hike. Sift and sort through local material and find rubies and gemstones. Go snorkeling in a local river, see underwater life, and have some fun in the water. Put your creative abilities to the test with acrylic painting and tie-dye fun! These programs are presented by Swain County 4-H, the youth development program of N.C. Cooperative Extension, Swain County Center.

To begin the registration process for Summer Fun, please email Kyla-Jo Farmer at krfarme2@ncsu.edu to receive a registration packet. All Summer Fun Days require pre-registration. For more information visit our website or call the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Swain County office at 828-488-3848 to learn about this year’s camps and availability. Because of COVID-19 social distancing protocols, spaces are limited.
