4-H Fair Entry Categories 2021The Swain County Agricultural Fair will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Great Smoky Mountains Event Park located at 1130 Hyatt Creek Road, Bryson City, NC 28713. Any youth, (ages 5-18) can enter items. Enter your favorite tie-dye shirt you made while camping, your canned tomatoes hand-picked from your garden, or even your acrylic painting you mastered with your creative abilities. We want it ALL!

You may find a complete list of Youth Arts & Crafts/Horticulture Exhibit information online or by emailing Swain County 4-H Agent, Kyla-Jo Farmer. Entry check-in will be August 16 & 17 from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Swain County Center located at 60 Almond School Road, Bryson City, NC 28713.

The youth division is divided into two age groups for judging: 9-13 and 14-18. Judging procedures and criteria for these ages are the same as for adult divisions.

  • All exhibits must be the work of the youth and made within the last two years.
  • Rosettes will be awarded in the 9-13 and 14-19 age groups ONLY.
  • In addition, first, second, and third place ribbons will be awarded.
  • For ages 5-8, entries will be based on the quality of the exhibit.
  • Youth ages 5-8 and Special Needs will receive a purple ribbon.
  • All entries must have Name, Age, Division, Class, and Category attached.
