July 7th is National Strawberry Sundae Day! Each year on this day, folks combine vanilla or strawberry ice cream, strawberry sauce, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream to make this special treat to enjoy with family and friends.

There are many U.S. cities that still battle over claiming stake as the birthplace of the sundae, but one thing is for sure, the sundae is an American favorite! So, on July 7 – or any other hot summer day – enjoy a sweet, refreshing treat to escape the heat!

With so many hot days ahead of us, a lightened up version of strawberry ice cream is a must. Give this recipe a try and see what you think!

5-Minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

Satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt with easy, creamy 5-Minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt! Four ingredients and five minutes.

PREP TIME 5 mins

COOK TIME 0 mins

TOTAL TIME 5 mins

SERVINGS 4 servings

Ingredients

  • ▢4cups frozen strawberries
  • ▢3Tablespoons agave nectar or honey
  • ▢1/2cup plain yogurt (non-fat or full fat)
  • ▢1Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen strawberries, agave nectar (or honey), yogurt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor. Process until creamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Serve the frozen yogurt immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 1 month.
  • I prefer a more tart frozen yogurt, but you can add additional agave nectar or honey if you want a sweeter-tasting dessert.
  • Fresh strawberries can be used in place of frozen, however the fresh strawberries must be frozen solid.
