2021 Gingerbread Challenge Winners

Talk about a fun Christmas tradition! With so much creativity this is one sure to continue year after year. From a toasty gingerbread campsite to a candylicious cottage in Elwood, this year’s 4-H Gingerbread Decorating Challenge entries are our spiced and frosted favorites!!

Youth had a few guidelines to follow while designing their festive creations. Their Gingerbread house or structure had to be made with Graham Crackers (NO KITS) and must be 100% edible (candy, embellishments, materials). Youth also needed to give their house or structure a title along with a brief description. Entries were judged on the following: Overall Appearance, Creativity and Originality, and Technique and Skill. Now to announce the winners!!!

Junior First Place: Mattie Grace Mullins, age 11
Camping Critters
Enjoy your holidays at Critter Camp! Where you will find two luxurious tents, a forest of Christmas trees, and Mitten Lake fully stocked with their favorite fish. Don’t forget the marshmallows when sitting around the campfire!!!
