Share Your Favorite Soup Recipe

Cooler weather is fast approaching and that means it is time for SOUP!  If you love soup as much as we do and have a favorite soup recipe, will you share it with us?  You can add a photo of you cooking it if you’d like.  We would love to spotlight you and your recipe on our 4-H Facebook page, Extension website, or even in the Smoky Mountain Time!

Share Your Holiday Gift Exchange Ideas

Do you enjoy exchanging gifts with family or friends? Then try some of these creative ideas!  Be sure to upload your fun gift exchange photos to our 4-H Facebook page!

  • Silly Sock Hot Potato – Find the silliest socks you can and wrap them up to resemble a small ball. Get together in a circle. Play a short song or set a kitchen timer and pass the gifts to the left. Whatever gift you are holding when the time is up, is the gift you get to open. Be careful though, you don’t want to rip the paper passing the “Hot Potato.”
  • Instead of Presents – Try a cookie exchange.  Take the time, find a recipe and make them from scratch. The love will show.
  • Make it Instead of Buy It – Get creative and sew something, make friendship bracelets, paint on canvas. The sky is the limit and the gift will never be forgotten.

Community Outreach

Building Stronger Family Bonds: If your church or community organization is interested in hosting a Family 4-H Event we would love to hear from you.  Programs are free of charge and can be adaptable to most age groups.

Give Back to the Community: Swain County 4-H is looking for a group of youth who would like to give back to their community.  If you love Swain County as much as we do and would enjoy working as a team to come up with ideas on how we can make a difference in the lives of others, give us a call today!
