Local Youth Compete at State Level Shooting Sports Competition

Three youth from Swain County competed in the the 2022 NC 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament in Ellerbe, North Carolina on Saturday, November 12. For youth to make it to the state tournament they must have received high enough scores at the West District Shooting Sports Tournament that was on August 13 in Polk County. 

Congratulations the following youth on their wins and a job well done representing the Swain County Bullets & Bows 4-H Club!
  • Marcus Fisher took 3rd place in the state in Junior Archery (Compound Hunter/Sportuer). He scored 193 out of possible 200. He also placed 9th in Open Sight Rifle.
  • Zach Tabor placed 29th in state in Junior Telescopic Rifle.
  • Kiana Parton placed 22nd in Senior Telescopic Rifle and 23rd in state in Senior Archery (Compound Hunter/Sportuer) with a score of 188 out of 200.
