CAKE BOSS  – CUPCAKE BASICS

Show off your cupcake decorating skills by learning the basics of how to ice, pipe, and decorate cupcakes. All supplies will be provided and you get to take your creation home with you! *Please note any food allergies on Summer Fun Registration Form.

4-H SNORKELING #1

Swain County 4-H is partnering with Mainspring Conservation Trust, a regional land trust based out of Franklin. Join us and Aquatic Programs Manager, Jason Meader as we explore the water of the Cheoah River.

  • 9:30 a.m–noon
  • Cheoah River (below Santeetlah Reservoir)
  • 4-Hers ages: 5-18 (Must be accompanied by an adult. Parents are welcome to participate or just supervise)
  • Cost: $5 per person (adults & children)
  • Limit: 20 youth
  • Register by: June 17
  • MUST SIGN Snorkeling Liability Waiver 
  • TRANSPORTATION NOT PROVIDED

What to Bring Suggestions: swimsuit, water shoes, towel, sunscreen, bug repellent, and bottled water.

WNC LIVESTOCK CENTER TOUR & CATTLE SALE

Want to learn how a livestock center operates? Join us as we travel to the WNC Livestock Center in Canton, NC where we will be able to watch a live cattle sale, tour the facilities and learn how a Livestock Center is run.

  • Cost: FREE (Bring money for lunch)
  • Limit: 10 youth

Note: *Transportation provided or you can meet at the Livestock Center, but please designate how many people will be attending.

DEEP CREEK GUIDED HIKE

Learn about safe hiking, native plants, and all the essentials you would need for a safe and successful hike. Hike led by Rob Hawk, Extension Director. *A picnic kit will be provided for lunch. (*Please note any food allergies on Summer Fun Registration Form). Stay after lunch and splash around in the creek until your parents arrive to pick you up.

  • Meet at Deep Creek Picnic Pavilion (Parents are welcome to stay, but not required)
  • 4-Hers ages: 7-14
  • Cost: $3 per person
