Cookie decorating


Show off your cookie decorating skills by learning the basics of how to pipe and decorate with icing using different piping tools.

All supplies will be provided and you will get to take your creations home with you! *Please note any food allergies on Registration Form.

sheep showmanship


Come learn and practice your sheep showmanship basics to prepare for the upcoming fair season. Guest Clinic Speaker: Addie Dillon

The clinic will focus on sheep showmanship, ring etiquette, nutrition suggestions and livestock show basics. *It is recommended you bring your animal with you but it is not required.

FARM  TO FORK CAMP (District Event)

Team up with youth from other counties in WNC to learn about local agriculture and where food comes from. Sign up for all 3 days or attend individual days.

  1. Tuesday, July 12: visit a Christmas Tree Farm and Bee Farm in Cashiers
  2. Wednesday, July 13: visit a Beef Farm, learn all about cuts of meat, and cook your own hamburger for lunch in Franklin
  3. Thursday, July 14: visit Darnell Farms in Bryson City and Kituwah Gardens on the Qualla Boundary
  • July 12 – 14, 2022

  • 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Meet at Swain Cooperative Extension Center (unless you are providing your own transportation)

  • 4-Hers ages: 5-18 + families

  • Cost: $5 per day (per person) or $15 for all 3 days

  • Register by: July 5

Watermelon slices


Bring the whole family and celebrate the end of summer with friends, food, and 4-H!! Activities include: a Bubble War, Tsunami Bounce Slip and Slidepizza, cotton candy, and snow cones!

NOTE: This replaces the same event originally scheduled for August 2.

4-H Artists


Come show off your artistic abilities with Swain County 4-H Art Camp. Activities will include painting, tie-dye and other crafts.

After camp, Swain 4-H will keep ONE piece of your art to enter into the 2022 Swain County Agricultural Fair! You will then receive your artwork after the fair along with any prizes won! All supplies will be provided.
