— Written By and last updated by

This hour-long class is being offered to Poultry Producers/Backyard Poultry Producers in Jackson and Swain Counties. Participants will learn the ins and outs of hatching eggs with an incubator, letting the hen hatch them, or buying one-day-old chicks. From choosing eggs to incubate or what breed of chicks to order from a hatchery we will cover all the basics, even how to care for chicks in a brooding box. If you already own chickens or are just thinking about starting an egg business there will be something for everyone.
