The statewide annual Dr. Kim Ingold NC 4-H Photo Contest highlights North Carolina 4-H’ers’ photographic achievements. The winning photos are then displayed on the North Carolina 4-H Photo Contest website.

The categories for 2025 were 4-H in Action, Nature’s Beauty, Animals, and Black and White with divisions for Cloverbud (ages 5-7 non-competitive), Junior (ages 8-13) and Senior (ages 14-18). This years contest ended on September 15 and Swain County had a nice showing from several youth in the county, among those were two state winners.

Congratulations to Kregg Parton and Lily Robertson on their winning photos! Winners were announced October 9 on the North Carolina 4-H Facebook page.

More About the NC Photography Contest

This contest was open to North Carolina 4-H members ages 8-18 and photos must have been taken by the 4-H’er submitting the entry. Judging is performed by NC State University Communications and CALS Communications. These departments are staffed by communications professionals who are accustomed to creating and/or using photographic images as part of their own work.

Photos were entered in the 2025 Swain County 4-H Photo Contest and were displayed at the Swain County Agricultural Fair. Photos were then entered in the 4-H Dr. Kim Ingold Photography Contest.
